Tea Biscuits

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup milk
21/2 tablespoons shortening
1 teaspoon salt

Sift the dry ingredients together. Work the shortening into the flour with a fork or fingertips. Make a well in the center, pour all the milk into it at once and stir well for 20 seconds, until all the flour is moistened.

Toss on a floured board and knead for 20 seconds, roll to 1/2 inch thick, cut into rounds, place on greased baking sheet and bake in 450-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
